FIP Warrior:

Willie

Willie is on day 18 of 84 of treatment with GS therapies.  He is doing fabulous and I am seeing normal behaviors that I have not seen since the summer of 2020!

Now 4 1/2 years old, “Wee Willie” is the youngest of 3. He, his brother Otto, and his sister Nadine, were bottle-fed by a friend of mine since the age of 3 days while she was volunteering for an area Humane Society.  He was the runt, and it was her daughter who named him. In his time, he has had two hip surgeries due to a congenital defect called LCPD.

I refer to him as Grandpa Willie, because when I foster, he is the one who has always been so welcoming to the new animals, as though to say “hey, kid, let me show you the ropes around here”.

I never really got an official diagnosis for him. FIP was only uttered a couple times during the initial two weeks that I spent $1600 on several visits to several facilities.  Given his concerning weight loss, his non-regenerative anemia, his cloudy eye, and x-rays that showed fluid in both cavities, and the additional input I sought, I finally put it all together and started him on GS therapies.

I have not been working, and not receiving any form of income, for three months. I am optimistic about my future, but he needs additional funds now for continued treatment.

Is it possible that you might help us? Anything and everything makes a huge difference!
