FIP Warrior:

Rosarito

Hi guys,

I am sorry to be reaching out to you on Dec 1st with these type of news, specially this year.
I wanted to let my closest friends know that Rosarito got very sick some weeks ago with a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus.

Most strains of feline coronavirus do not cause significant disease. However in approximately 10 percent of cats infected with FeCV, one or more mutations of the virus can alter its biological behavior, resulting in an intense inflammatory reaction in kidney and brain. The disease is usually progressive and fatal without therapy, however no medication has been approved to treat FIP. Miraculously I have found there's an experimental treatment for this disease and I have started injection therapy with this experimental drug that I have to purchase international because its not FDA-approved. Because of the length of the treatment and the cost of the vials, we are looking at an overall expense of $6,000. I have covered half of it so far and currently already seeing the results on Rosarito, who is walking, jumping and eating slowly again.
I know some of you know her and have spent time with her, if you feel you wish to contribute to her recovery, you can donate on this site.

Thank you all for the support!
