My 11 year old daughter’s 8 month old kitten, Neville Mandrake, just received the devastating diagnosis of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). This disease acts fast. Until recently it was 100% fatal and euthanasia was the recommendation to prevent suffering.

Our doctor mentioned there has been positive results with an experimental treatment. Research shows a “cure” rate of up to 85% but treatment is very expensive. Neville will need medication injections for 84 days followed by 84 days of observation. He will require 36 vials at $75 each to complete treatment. In addition to this and shipping costs, there are the added expenses of regular blood testing, check ups and supportive care.

These costs are not something our family can cover alone. However, with there being a chance of Neville’s survival and recovery, I just couldn’t tell my daughter we wouldn’t try.  Any contribution amount will mean hope for our family, most of all, Kalea.   Please share this anywhere/everywhere you can!
