FIP Warrior:

Mori Moo Moo

The great Charles Dickens once said, "What greater gift than the love of a cat."  These words couldn't be more truer.  Last year we adopted our gentle giant, Mori-Moo Moo from a rescue animal shelter and in a years time he has made a home not only in our house but deep inside our hearts.  Mori is the sweetest, most loving, little angel.  Mori has the calmest temperament and a huge appetite for attention; as well as, food, yes, lots and lots of food.  Mori loves nothing more than to watch "TV" by watching the birds outside our windows, or to prance around the house with his toys and to of course spend lots of time playing with his furry siblings. Mori also loves snuggle time with his parents and his big sister.

These past few weeks we noticed significant changes in Mori's behavior.  First he wasn't vacuuming up food like he normally does.  Mori would not only eat his food, but would also head over to his siblings bowls as well, always looking for more. Seeing him not eat as much was a huge indicator that something was going on with him.  Additionally, Mori wasn't as active.  He was more reclusive, trying to hide with no interest in watching "TV", playing with his toys or hanging out with his siblings.  Mori was not acting like himself, with all of his vibrancy gone. We knew Mori was sick and we had to do something immediately, so we took him straight to his doctor.

During Mori's examination, his doctor noted that he was lethargic, lost weight,  and that he was tender in his abdomen.  She also stated that she felt thickening in the area and that when listening to his heart she heard a murmur.   She suggested that we run a full blood panel in order to begin understanding what was happening to our brave little boy.  When we received his blood work back, we immediately could tell that Mori was indeed severely ill.  The blood work identified that Mori is anemic and suggested that two things could be going on inside our heroic little fighter.  The first being Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) or the second being Lymphoma.  The next step was to have a sonogram done of Mori's abdomen.

The results of Mori's gastrointestinal tract was revealing.  Not only does he have two enlarge lymph nodes but he is also suffering from an enlarged pancreas, and liver.  She indicated that while what she is seeing could be lymphoma it could still be FIP because Mori's kidneys didn't have an aura around them.  She prescribed medications to help him with him symptoms.  She told us if it's Lymphoma it's a matter of time.  She also told us if it's FIP we might be able to CURE him with an experimental treatment.  She recommended we check out the FIP Warrior Page for assistance.

Which brings us to the here and now.  We just began Mori on his experimental treatment which is rather expensive and is going to be impossible for us to fund on our own.  I never thought I would be in the position where money would get in the way of me saving something I love, but here we are.  I know that we need to take this one step at a time and I have faith in humanity in knowing that Mori will ultimately get what he needs.  That's where you come in.  WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP OUR PRECIOUS BABY ALIVE.

Right now we are looking for help with funding for the next four weeks.  As our financial situation and Mori's needs change, so will our fundraising goals.

Anything that you can give, will be greatly appreciated, even if it's a dollar.  Dollar's add up and can help our sweet Mori boy make it to the finish line of his treatment.

Please help us save our little boy!
