FIP Warrior:

Junior

Junior is 13 years old and he's been my buddy since he was 4 weeks old. I still remember the day I brought him home. He was so tiny that he fit in the palm of my hand. He was shaking so I held him to my shoulder to comfort him as I drove home. He ruined my favorite shirt that day with his tiny claws lol.

Earlier this year, I was heartbroken upon learning that the fluid in his abdomen was a result of a terminal condition. I drove 3 hours away to see a specialist and after several tests, they still could not tell me what he had for sure, although the vet suspected FIP. I was devastated because I knew he would pass away soon and I didn't even know what he had. At least then I could try to save him somehow. After some research, I decided to try to treat FIP as a diagnostic means. It took a couple of weeks, but Junior began and has continued to improve. I've been so happy while seeing him get back to his old self.

Unfortunately, his most recent blood test showed that we need to extend treatment past the normal 84 days while almost doubling his dose. I was devastated by this news. I feel so bad for my Junior because he gets so stressed with the daily shots. I also can no longer afford the treatment and vet bills. I have been on unemployment and have spent all my money after bills on him. I maxed out my Care Credit card. I no longer buy much food for myself (thankfully my parents have helped with this), and I try to buy him good quality food. I spent the last of my extra money on what should’ve been his last set of meds.

Since I have done everything I can myself, I am asking for your help in funding Junior’s treatment. We need $2,590. This will fund an additional month of treatment at the higher dose, shipping costs for the treatment, and two vet visits for blood panels. I appreciate anything that you can give.
