Flynn is a 6 months old little boy we got through fostering for our local shelter. We took care of him, his 5 baby siblings and his mom for 12 weeks before they found their forever home, Flynn's being ours!

Flynn did not have an easy beginning at life. At only 3 weeks of age, him and his siblings contracted the notorious Panleukopenia (parvovirus), which unfortunately took the life of one of his brother and sister. Fortunately, he and his 3 other sisters got through against all odds with day and night intensive care from me, and are now thriving. Today, after a lot of work and determination, all 4 babies and their mother have found their forever families.

While we thought the worse was behind us, Flynn got sick again, this time with FIP, a death sentence. He hadn't been eating in days, was awfully thin and didn't even walk anymore. His belly was so big with fluids that he looked pregnant! Our veterinarian (unaware of the current FIP studies) suggested that we put him to sleep, but we refused. Once home, and after a lot of crying, we started doing our own researches and found out about the GS441 studies and treatments. It was not only scary, but also incredibly expensive. But that did not stop us and we decided to try anyway.

As I am writing this (Jan 7th), Flynn is on day 20 of treatment and he is doing wonderfully. For a kitten that only had a few days left a few weeks ago, he's now jumping, running, playing, eating like a piglet, meowing, he's basically back to his old self! We still have a long way to go before we reach the 84 days of treatment, then the 84 more of remission, but we are carefully optimistic.

We had to rethink our whole finances, sell a lot of things and cancel a whole lot of others in order to afford the treatment, and yet we still need a little bit of help to finish it and pay for all the vet visit and blood work required to go through this whole thing.
