Clementine

My little girl, Clementine was diagnosed October 21, 2021 and put down the same day.Clentine was barely 4 months. A couple days before, I noticed she was really lethargic and not eating much and wasn't leaving my side and cuddling up under my blanket with me. Then i noticed that she was walking really weird and an unstable gait. It started to worry .e amd so on October 21, I brought her to my walk in clinic and I was so worried. This was during the pandemic, so we checked in in the morning and had to wait in the cat until it was time for us to be seen. While in the car, I decided to let her out of the carrier because she was crying. She crawled up my chest and then suddenly flew into the back seat and bounced off the side window and jumped way over to the other side window and bounced off. I reached back to get her and jold her.and then I put her back in her carrier and I went into the vet again, to let them know what was going on because I was very concerned! They took her immediately and brought her in the back to test her vitals real quick. They rushed her. They came back with her and said her vitals were stable for the time being. So I took her back to my car again. After several minutes, I let her out of her carrier again and she was about to hurt herself again, so I made a phone call to the vet from my car. They got her in a room right away. They took her blood work and gave fluids. She came back with Clementine and told me the news. I was devastated because she was my baby and my sidekick! It was a punch to the gut for sure. They ledt me with her for awhile and I had tobmake a decision on what to do and I decided to put her down right away  because she was already being affected neurologically and hurting herself and I wasnt able to keep her safe in my home and with my other 3 cats at home. I happened to bring 4 churo puree treats because I had a really bad feeling and I wanted her to have as many treats as she could if I had to put her down. She ate ALL of the churo treats. They brought me to the private room to be with her til I was ready to say goodbye. After 10 minutes, I decided to push the button because I was "ready". I was holding her in my arms like a baby in her little blanket and they came in and put the medicine in the catheter in her foot/leg, she was gone within seconds. She lost her bladder when she was euthanized. Such a traumatic event and I'm crying as I type this story out. That was the end of my Clementine. I had her cremated by herself because I wanted only her ashes and not a mass cremation. They gave me a paw print and a paw impression in some clay. When I went to puck up her ashes, they included a teeny vial with a swatch of her hair and a few whiskers. I keep her box out on my shelf and the paw impression and the tiny vial up on a higher shelf so the others don't mess with it. Thank you for reading my story.
