FIP Warrior:

Vespers

Vespers is approx. 7-10 years old, rescued off the streets, she is an indoor/outdoor girl with  a voracious lust for life (and mice).

In October 2022, Vespers stopped eating her dry food. At first, we thought it was the brand. We switched. Nothing. This is a cat that needs a robotic feeder because she will eat the kibble until she is happy sick so we knew something was off. After multiple vet visits and testing, the diagnosis was FIP.

This was a REALLY STRANGE TIME IN OUR LIVES. We had scheduled in-home euthanasia, Vespers was home and had a feeding tube for food and meds. Then we had a glimmer of hope, but we had to use facebook. Now it's early December 2022 and the facebook group is introducing me to locals that have the meds we need. I met other cat owners across the Delaware Valley, in strip malls and soccer parks, for illegal drug transactions. Yep, I was buying vials of a drug with no idea of the ingredients for cash, in rando parking lots, and then we had to inject this stuff into our dying cat. Vespers took the injections like a true champion. She is a strong and mighty little warrior.

Flash forward 6 months - we received the final results for the last test and while we suspected she was all clear - hearing it from the vet made it all official. Vespers is cured!! THANK YOU SCIENCE!
