FIP Warrior:

Smudge

Hello all! I appreciate you taking the time to read my post. I'm reaching out to anyone who can help me and my cat Smudge who is 16 months old.

I started to notice that Smudge was off his food and sleeping all the time. He is generally a fussy eater but this was getting worse day by day, he was hiding away and looked unkempt and also anorexic looking.

I took Smudge to the vets on the  25th September where he was admitted into the animal hospital. He was in for 4 days with kidney failure, liver failure and was having fits.
The vets diagnosed him with FIP and told me that there was no cure and that Smudge was dying from this awful disease and to take him home and give him palliative care.

I wasn't prepared to give up on him  and would have given anything to save him and that evening after bringing him home  I found light at the end of the tunnel with an amazing group  on Facebook who helped me get the medication that Smudge desperately needed.
He started the very next day on the 29th September and I was feeding him through a syringe. By day 4 the improvements in him were outstanding, he was eating by himself and  I was completely blown away.

Today we are on day 11 and almost all of his jaundice has gone, he is grooming himself and putting weight on and I'm seeing improvements in his energy levels. He even had a little chase with his sister this morning 😊

As I am sure you all know the price for this type of treatment can get very costly. For this I am reaching out, for any kind of donation towards Smudge's treatments!

Thank you all so much for reading this and supporting us in our Journey!”
