FIP Warrior:

Louie

Hello! My name is Savannah, and this is my sweet girl Louie (calico) and her sister and best friend Mittie (grey). Recently, Louie was diagnosed with FIP and given a terminal prognosis by our trusted vet, after fluid was found in her abdomen and extensive bloodwork was run. Louie is a spunky 3-year old kitty, who I chose to adopt during a very difficult period in my life. Louie has had an immense impact on my life. No matter what I am going through, what kind of day I've had, she has always been there to greet me at the door, give me a kiss, and wait patiently (most of the time) for her snack. Not only does she mean the world to me, but she also means the world to her young sister Mittie. They are inseparable and have formed a mother-daughter bond. They enjoy naps together, play nonstop, and team up to scream at me at 4am for their early morning snack.
A couple of weeks ago, I began to see a change in Louie - she was not eating, unwilling to play with her sister, isolating herself, and suddenly very bloated. Shortly following this she recieved her diagnosis. Not only can I not bear the thought of losing my sweet Louie when she has so much life left to live, but I cannot imagine Mittie having to grieve her as well. We have started treatment and are hopeful, but finances are scarce, and as many know, this treatment is very expensive. I am currently a graduate student studying to get my Master's in Animal Welfare and Behavior, and I do not make much money due to that. We have also been in a very difficult transitional phase and have many expenses outside of Louie’s treatment - I am afraid we will not be able to continue without further help. We are so grateful for any help to save her.
