FIP Warrior:

Mynx

I brought Mynx home from the cat cafe I volunteer at and he pretty quickly grew ill. He became lethargic, stopped eating, and had terrible diarrhea. I discovered that he had a chicken sensitivity that was messing with his stomach, but this didn't resolve his other symptoms so I knew more was wrong. I spent 4 months trying to get him diagnosed so I could treat him appropriately since he was only one-year-old and had a long life ahead of him.

Once we received the formal diagnosis from an emergency center via ultrasound on Independence Day I knew to contact FIP Warriors from another woman who had adopted from us at the cafe. I hit the ground running, started my GoFundMe, and ordered the GS to start treating my baby. We used Lucky brand and did the injections twice a day for 2 weeks, which was awful, so we finished the remaining 10 weeks with pills.

During his first round of treatment he relapsed twice and we upped his dose. By the end of observation his levels were still concerning but not quite bad enough to restart meds so we waited. Within a few weeks, it became clear his globulins were raised again and his liver was suffering, so we started round 2 of 84 days of GS, this time with Harmony capsules. He's on week 4 of treatment and so far he's not been improving as quickly as last time. He has good days and bad days, but I'm going to keep treating him until his quality of life seems very poor. For now, he is a happy kitty who loves to play with springs, beg for pets, and sleep on my legs every night.
